Remote Web Based Channel Change

Apologies if this has been covered before.

I am using MPEG-2 hardware encoding so I cannot live-stream through the BeyondTV web interface.

I am currently using VLC to encode MPEG-2>WMA which works fine but I do not have the ability to remotely switch the channel.

Does anyone know of, or implemented, a way to remotely change channel on the BeyondTV3 server? Is there a plugin out there for this?

While not exactly streamlined, I use TightVNC to control the BTV machine. I can't see the actual video through TightVNC (there may be a setting to allow that, but I haven't found it yet), but I can see all the screens, change channels, etc. I then use VideoLAN for the actual video.
TightVNC does have a web-based interface, but I don't use it.

I'm sure there are other ways to accomplish your goal.
