BTV & Dolby 5.1.

I'm a DirecTV/DirecTiVo user researching a switch to BTV.
Two tuners is a requirement for me, so I'm looking into purchasing two RCA satellite receivers on eBay (since it looks like I have no other alternative, hardware wise). Both of these receivers have optical digital 5.1 output.

Both Pay-per-view and HBO broadcast in 5.1. I think I'd only need one of the two tuners in 5.1.. I don't know if I've ever recorded more than one 5.1 show before.

I'm looking into this setup:
2x RCA satellite receivers, hooked to the PC via serial cable
1x WinTV-PVR500MCE
1x Sound Blaster Audigy that has 1 optical input and 1 optical output.

Here's my question:

1) Can I tell BeyondTV to take the sound input from tuner1 from the 500MCE and sound input from tuner2 from the Audigy's optical in?

2) Does BTV know what is being broadcast in 5.1? If so, can it automatically choose tuner2 for 5.1 broadcasts? Alternatively, can I assign a specific tuner to specific channels? i.e. whenever I switch to HBO, BTV automatically uses tuner2 to do so, moving whatever was on tuner2 over to tuner1?

Thanks!

Re: BTV & Dolby 5.1.

BeyondTV at this time can only capture audio in monural or stereo (2ch), when using a hardware encoder card such as the pvr500 beyondTV can only capture the audio using the pvr's internal capture hardware wich is only capable of stereo capture.

Even when using a non-hardware encoder, thus requiring capture from the system's audio card, beyondtv can only capture 2ch audio from that

Thanks. Any plans to offer 5.1?

Re: BTV & Dolby 5.1.

Mostly up to the Tuner Card manufacturers. I am sure once they get something on the market Snapstream will try to support it.
