Re: Beyond TV and Digital Cable box

You need the digital cable box between the cable into your home and the tuner card to be able to receive the digital cable channels.

So, the cable comes into the digital cable box and then goes to your tuner card - that is what lets you get all those channels in BTV.

Yes, KenH is right, but you need to go one step further. You also need to control your digital cable box thru BTV, so that when you tell BTV to change the channel, you must also tell the cable box to change the channel as well, or the setup is useless.

I use a USB-UIRT, that you buy from snapstream, that blasts your channel changes from BTV to your cable box. Search this forum, you'll find lots of info on this.

Re: Beyond TV and Digital Cable box

A lot of those Motorola boxes also support control via serial cable. BTV has a plugin that will work very well with many of them
