I have recently upgraded to a dual tuner system using a Hauppauge 150 and 250. One tuner's input is a Scientific Atlanta 4200 cable box in my living room and the other tuner's input is a SA 4200 cable box in my bedroom. I used to use a MyBlaster USB RF to control my single tuner system. The problem now is that because both cable boxes use the same IR codes, a change of channel with one tuner through MyBlaster would also affect the other tuner.
I prefer to use the MyBlaster rather than USB-IRT because I would need to stretch an IR emitter into my bedroom from the USB-IRT in my livingroom - alternatively, the RF capability from MyBlaster makes this wireless.
David from
www.my.tv who sells the MyBlaster has been very helpful with this process. He says that if I control one MyBlaster with MyIR and the other Myblaster with HERemote, BTV will see it as two seperate blasters and thus send a signal based on the tuner used to either the MyblasterIR or Myblaster RF. Because an IR signal sent to either box will be blocked by the wall b/w my bedroom and livingroom I would be able to control both cable boxes independently. Unfortunately, my.tv has not tested this set-up, but believes it works based on feedback they have received. I would like to confirm it works before investing more $ in blasters, so is anyone on this forum using this type of configuration? Thanks-
Jeremy
