Beyond TV will work fine, but for the EPG you'll have to use XMLTV :

Stéphane.

Do you have or do you know I would find a description (step by step and instructions per instructions) of what to do in order to have the XMLTV grabber running for Belgium and the Beyond TV software. I wold really appreciate if you could help me as I am totally lost.

My best regards,

For the Python grabber :

1) Install Python 2.3.4 : http://www.python.org/download/
2) Then download the python grabber lib : http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=101497 download the executable pytvgrab-lib-0.5.1.win32.exe and run the executable
3) Then download the python grabber for belgium : http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=127116 download the executable pytvgrab-be_tlm-0.5.0.win32.exe and run the executable
4) Open the folder C:\Python23\Scripts and rename tv_grab_be_tlm to tv_grab_be_tlm.py.
5) Open a command prompt and type cd C:\Python23\Scripts
6) Type tv_grab_be_tlm.py --output=tvguide.xml --days=8 --nocolor --notitles
7) Follow the direction of the grabber (it will be difficult to read sometimes, especially when it asks you to choose the channels you want to download. Note : it will do this only one time)

Go here for any nther informations : http://pytvgrab.sourceforge.net/

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: EPG for Belgium?

Thanks Stephane for your help. I have another question (hoping that is the last one as I do not want boring you too much). I am using "Beyond TV XMLTV Importer" and when I tried to edit the channels I have got 'Impossible to find the file xmlvt.dtd'. I have no clue about that file. Presumably, it should be a file that must be linked with the known channels in Beyond TV. Where could I find it? How could I edit the channels in beyond TV to match that file. I am sure that I am missing other steps. if you have time, I would be very pleased if you could explain the last steps to be performed before I could use the soft. Another question that is nothing to do with the grabber and the channels. When i am watching the TV, there is no synch between the audio and the video while when I am using other product such as Intervideo Hope theater, i do not have that problem. For info, I have a brand new PC (HP T780 3.4 Gh, 1,5 GB ram, Radeon X300 series 256 Mb...)

Thanks in advance for your help and support

Mario

If you do have a WinTV PVR 150 / 250 / 350 or any other hardware encoder, then the sound should be perfectly in sync in the recorded video. On the contrary if you are using a software encoder you may have sync issue or are not hearing what you should hear (that is you hear the live audio instead of the recorded audio).

It may also be a playback issue, I suggest that you use Nvidia DVD Decoder (you'll have to wait for BTV 3.5.2 to be able to select it as your default decoder otherwise you'll have to play with customsettings.xml).

Anyway based on your spec you shouldn't have any issue at all with BTV :

* Use a Good DVD Ready profile
* Choose a 800x600 resolution (or 1280x720 if your display is an HDTV)
* Choose 3D Acceleration as rendering mode in BTV
* Choose Hardware for deinterlacing.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: EPG for Belgium?

Stephane,
Again me. Do I have to create the DTD file manually or could I find it somewhere? Or, does it exist a script to create based on some criterion?

Thanks

mario

You'll find the DTD (a file) if you follow the first link of my last post.

Re: EPG for Belgium?

Thanks Stephane, I saw the file that you mentioned in your last post. I presume that the DTD file should be tied with my channels. So, if I understand correctly, I have to create the DTD file based on my config... Am I right? If yes, it seems a little be tricky as I am not a specialist of doing so. Is there any tool to create it from scratch..... Another question, I renamed all my channels with the Web tool, but, now, I cannot see anymore them... Is it normal.... How coud I synch the name of the channels with the ones the XML file containing the EPG and the DTD file.

Thanks in advance for your support and helpful comments.

Regards,

No, you just have to download the file and save it in the same folder where you XMLTV file is.

If by the Web Tools you are talking about Beyond TV Web Admin there is no need to rename your channels here (and if you were editing the real imported XMLTV lineup you can't edit channel name).

You must edit all channels (name / number / call sign) inside the importer, the importer will then import it into Beyond TV, then you'll have to assign the imported lineup to each of your video source. The lienup imported by the XMLTV Importer are sort of read only.

The best thing to do to picture how it works is currently to delete all channels lineup in Beyond TV Web Admin and then import your XMLTV file and you'll see actually the lineup that should be used.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: EPG for Belgium?

Stephane, I will follow your instructions and let you know the results (somewhere this week). But last not ...Least, i verified again your link for the dtd and it seems to me that the link (http://www.lmgestion.net/content/Sof...ndTV/xmltv.dtd is a description of what the file is and not the actual file. Am i wrong? I feel sorry if I am boring you with my questions.

regards

Yes. The DTD is a schema for both people and computers so it is perfectly normal that you can in fact read it. But have you even tried to download this file and import your XMLTV file and see for yourself that the message "can't find the DTD" is now gone...?

Regards.
Stéphane.
