I don't get tv listings in beyond tv...

how do i get the channesl to show what is on, in the beyond tv progam? every channel just says unavailable.... does this have to do with me logging into my snapstream account? f so, i can't... i created one during the setup process but it won't let me log in on the website? what is up?

Go to the snapstream.net program guide while in the viewscape interface. Hit the letter 'u'. This will begin the update process. Personally, I use Windows XP firewall (SP2) because I had a few problems with zone alarm. Try it- it's a good place to start!

If you have an ad or pop-up blocker that emulates a proxy server, the BTV guide updates will fail. It will also fail if you have a real proxy server.

Look at your Internet Options, connections, LAN settings to see if there is a proxy server configured.

before i try that though, i think i may have a problem with my account at snapstream itself. did you guys get some sort of confirmation when you created your snapstream.net accounts? i didn't. for all i know, i don't even know if there is one created for me. i filled out the proper info but when i go to the snapstream.net login page, it says no such user exists....

You need to get your account straightend out and be able to log into ss.net before you spend time on the other potential issues.

I have the same error. It doesn't seem to be setting up my snapstream.net account. I have emailed tech support. Hopefully they can fix things up for me.

Nanook105, How well do the 4 tuners work for you? Is the machine stable?

I have two PVR250MCE's coming for my new sysytem, and a PVR500. I bought the PVR500 to build another system. I may try it in my new ASUS system if you say it will work. I will be using BTV 3.5 and the Firefly remote.

System will be a 3.0 GHZ P4 with HT, 1 GB PC4200 DDR2 ram, and 600 GB of SATA hard drives. Video out will be from a ATI Radeon X700. Sound will be an Audigy2.

I don't have any experiance with the 500, but my setup with four tuners is solid as a rock. You may want to take a backup before you start in case you need to roll back
