Post 3rd party guide data XML format

Hi!
I would like to know the xml format and xml files used by Beyond TV 3.5 3rd party guide data update service. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find any type of documentation. In the SDK, I only found how to "initialize" the update, no info on XML formats/files that should be located in the 3rdPartyGuideData folder. Any help?

I want to create my own xmltv (US) to beyond tv converter. The BTV XMLTV Import app out there, does not recognize new shows. I've tried everything. Plus now they've removed the /silent feature, money hungry mongrels :-)

I did create an app in C#.NET, that adds the "premiere" tag to xmltv listings file so that the new shows show up in the guide (after you run btv xmltv importer on it). You can learn more about it here (includes program and code): XMLTV Importer for 3.5

Need to know 3rd party guide xml specs... anyone?

Thanks,
-Jawad

Money hungry, I don't think so... You can still use the 2.9 version if you want the "/silent" option without donating even 1 euros. The 3.0 version just implements a new wizard to make the import process easier for new users...

I spend many time to support users with XMLTV Import and I'm still pursuing development on the importer and web guide (in fact if you donate for either one you receive the two programs and each update forever). But since the importer is online, I receive only one donation, that's why I made this policy change...

It does by following XMLTV DTD specs, and maybe a donation would have made the importer does it the way you want to.

Regards,
Stéphane.

There is no written documentation for the XML files expected by BTV. But it's pretty easy to figure out with what the XMLTV Importer produces : that's the way I proceeded. The tricky parts is not the files themselves or their DTD, it's the way you have to build IDs for channels and episodes, and this logic is up to you.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Post Re: 3rd party guide data XML format

Stephane, thanks for your quick reply. I know there are probably some costs involved there, hence the required donation "feature", so I apologize if I hurt anyones feelings .

I am sorry to hear that SnapStream has not documented the 3rd Party Guide Data specs. The title itself says 3rd Party! If they don't document it, they may as well call it 1st party!

I did look at the xml files and do understand how to proceed, but it would be helpful to have documentation to go by...

thx again for your help, Stephane.

Documentation on 3rd party guide data....now THERE'S an idea! But come on, it's Snapstream. Their documentation is way lacking. Great products though.
