Comcast HDTV box and BTV
Hi everyone, I'm trying to decide whether or not to get DirecTV or stick with Comcast when I build my HDTV. Does anyone out there know if the HDTV box will integrate with BTV using serial cables? I don't want to use an IR blaster. I realize that BTV will not record HDTV, just wondering about how well the box will work.
Also, my TV has CableCard functionality, is there anyway to use the CableCard to get the HDTV channels, but send the rest of the channels to BTV for recording? I believe the TV has an S-video out. Thanks. |

Re: Comcast HDTV box and BTV
My Comcast HD box does not have a serial port, so I have to use a USB-UIRT. I was kind of annoyed by this, but now I have the UIRT, I'm loving it as I can also use it to control the TV and amplifier via Girder.
