Multi-tuner system - use both Hauppauge IR Receiver eyes?
I have a system with a PVR-250 (coaxil connected) and PVR-150 (digital cable box to s-video connected) that I am having difficulty with the receiver and blaster. Should both cards have their respective IR receiver eyes connected or can I just use one receiver to control both cards with my remote? Thanks -

Re: Mutli-tuner system - use both Hauppauge IR transmitter eyes?
I think you should just have one IR receiver connected which will control both cards. (Actually, the IR receiver is sending commands to the snapstream application, and the application is controlling the cards, which is why you only need one.)
You may have to play around to figure out which card to plug the receiver into. When I last tried this, it worked when plugged into one of the cards but not the other. So if it doesn't work with whatever card you plug it into, try plugging it into the other card. |

I don't have a 150, but I just looked at their web site. I don't see any mention of the 150 (or 250 for that matter) coming with a IR blaster. It talks about an IR transmitter, but I think they are talking about the IR remote that it comes with.

Hi Manny,
I am not sure I understand what you are saying about the 150. Does it comes with a blaster? the exact same wording is used on the page for the 250 and it does not come with a blaster. |

The 150 definitely comes with a blaster. The 250 only comes with a receiver. You can use the 150 to change channels on a cable box using the include blaster. The 250, however, requires the additional purchase of a blaster to do the same task. Both the 250 and 150 have a receiver that works with the included remote - the difference b/w the two in a nutshell is you are limited with the 250 with the included hardware to changing channels when the cable wire is connected to the 250 without the use of a cable box.
