Cool Stream Quits After 7 - 10 Minutes

When I stream files locally on a home network or over internet it works great for 7 - 10 minutes then I get a unable to connect to server error or an unable to locate file error. Then I move the jog bar to where it quit and hit play it works again for 7-10 minutes, so I can watch the entire file but I am always reconnecting. If I download the file it works fine, also if I stream over a http server from the same computron as beyond tv 3.5 it works fine, however with the http stream I do not have the ability to use the jog bar so i would like to stream from beyond tv 3.5's server.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Mike Cooper

Re: Stream Quits After 7 - 10 Minutes

It seems there is a timeout if you don't continue to browse the beyondtv webserver. I have asked others about this and no one ever seemed to care. I use firefox and just added a utility that causes a page to autorefresh and I set it to 4 minutes (I think the timeout is 5 minutes).

I just upgraded back to 3.5 (this was one of the issues that made me go back to 3.4). I haven't had a chance to see if this is fixed in the 3.5.1 release (but I doubt it).

It's still there in 3.5.1. I still have an open ticket with support on this.

Re: Stream Quits After 7 - 10 Minutes

My guess it is going to remain open for a while. It seems like they need a server timeout to occur to support the Link stuff. So the rest of us will suffer.

I am going to soon start looking at the web source code, maybe I can set the page to refresh every 4 minutes as a result of clicking the play button, of course if you close your browser you are out of luck, it really needs to be addressed from the server side.

I am guessing that the link code is shared in someway with the streaming code and it happened as a side effect.

It just bugs me that they seemed to be forgetting about the way people other then the majority use their application and make changes (security, streaming, livetv, pocketpc) that are negative and seem not to care.
