How long will this promotion last?

It is my understanding that Link does not currently use a concurrent licensing model. However, if SS can guarantee that this will happen in the near future, I'll buy a license today. But if I have to buy a license for every machine that has the software installed on it, $29.95 is still too expensive.

Can anyone from SnapStream tell me if the licensing will be changing in the future or if it will remain the same.

hmmm. I guess that I need to send the same type of message to GM because they offered a bigger rebate the day after I bought my truck, or to Kodak because they lowered the price of the camera after I bought it, or Compusa because the offered a $50 rebate two weeks after I bought that 250 gb hard drive or ..... I could go on and on with my history of bad timing on purchases.

The bottom line is that this is a standard part of the sales cycle, and I think it is great that they are offering this discount.

Perhaps you should have waited before purchasing? This is the normal process with any technology. Prices go down for those who wait.

For tangible goods in which there is a fixed dollar value needed to produce each and every sellable copy, prices generally start at the maximum and migrate downward. With software, in which the price of producing each copy is minimal, the price frequently starts at some discount as an incentive to purchase with the difference being recovered due to increased sell-through. I could list at least 6 software titles which I have saved a significant amount (up to 30%) by taking advantage of introductory discount pricing which lasted from a few weeks to a month or more before the item went up to a stable peak price for the remainder of its life. Of course, each company and situation is unique unto itself and there are no rules. I guess I'm actually still sore over the DivX issue. Whatever...

Sorry to pile on but if you haven't learned this lesson by now then you definitely need a teaching...early adopters always pay more. I'm hard pressed to remember when I bought something when it was first released that ended up being less expensive if I had waited a few months or more. As an example, I bought a first generation iPod about 2 months before the 2nd gen model was released(not knowign it was about to be released) w/more features and a bigger hard drive for the same price. Anyone who purchases electronics or something technology related should already know this and expect it. If you don't expect it or just like to complain in posts then I guess this a good place to get your frustrations out.

The single license was discounted by $10, but the 3 pack was not reduced at all. I could just buy 3 licenses at the current price and it would actually be cheaper than buying the 3 pack. What I am saying is that since they reduced the single user license, I wondered if they would reduce the multiple user license.

Single License = 29.99 normally 39.99 savings of $10
Multi License = 89.99 normally 89.99 they say a savings of $30, but not at the current pricing for a single license. If they reduced the pack by 30 (that would be a $10 discount for each license at the single license price) then it would be priced at 59.99 which is definately a great price.
