How about some type of preview in the guide?!

I hate to bring this up since it has probably been brought up a million times in the past years but there really needs to be a preview Window of the last channel viewed in LiveTV while in the Program Guide. It is pretty silly to think that I can't watch what I was watching before but can hear it. Not very good at all.

Re: How about some type of preview in the guide?!

I assume you're refering to putting up the guide while you're in Live TV, as you refer to hearing the broadcast. Are you using Overlay? If you use DirectX mode (or whatever it's called), the guide is semi-transparent, so you can still see the picture underneath.

That said, PIP would be great if they can get the screen layout to look good.

Yeah, give the 3d accelerated mode a try.

Should allow you to do this:

Enable 3D acceleration, then press 'E' on the keyboard or macro A on the Firefly.

Re: How about some type of preview in the guide?!

I just threw something together real quick... This is along the lines of what I'd like to see... Of course with a little more precision in the details... http://forums.snapstream.com/public_html/ubb/smile.gif

I would love to have channel logos aswell.

Also, in the HUD I would like it if the show details window didn't come up during channel changes. I do not always want to see them. I would LOVE it if I had to hit a key to bring them up instead.

Honestly though, the current guide is really ugly.

Re: How about some type of preview in the guide?!

I'd agree that in-window should be an option (and yes, I currently use 3D acceleration)- the semi-opaque guide just makes it harder to see program info *and* the current program. I like this guide mock-up a lot.

Re: How about some type of preview in the guide?!

While we are asking/commenting, how about a smaller font so you can get more than a few shows displayed at a time?

Nice layout BTW. I like the preview screen.

Thanks
Mike

This looks great. This is about the only guide feature left that my family misses when we watch live TV in BTV.

Re: How about some type of preview in the guide?!

Yeah... I would love it, the one thing that really bothers me about the current guide is all that wasted screen realestate.

Although I use 3d acceleration, so I don't really need that preview window. I am more interested in having a nicer looking guide that has room for more info.

Hey jkoon,

Like your guide pic, why not post it to Snapstream?

I wish we could have seperate recording qualities for upcoming recordings as you can on stand-alone DVD recorders.....

Old post, but I would like to see your wheemers concept as an option. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Me too! I would love the preview and the logos would be a nice touch as well.
