150 or 250

Im looking to totally revamp my BTV machine. I am switching from whats in my signature to a better machine.

anyways, i am looking to replace my avertv card with 2 snapstream supported hardware encoded cards for dual tuning. I was looking at the PVR-150 or the PVR-250BTV. What is the difference. They both come with an extra license, and are both hardware encoded. I will probably use my ati rw remote so no need for ir.

Re: 150 or 250

wow, $10 cheaper for the 250btv. Perhaps go with those then. Didn't even look there, I was assuming that the 150 would be cheaper since that's how Hauppauge seems to be promoting them. The only difference I see on that comparison page is the 150 looks like it can't do mpeg1 vcd encoding.

Exclamation Re: 150 or 250

I own a PVR-150. Another difference which I didn't notice is that the 150 has a 1/8" jack for audio which requires a 1/8" to RCA cable.

Pick up a 1/8" stereo to RCA (L) (R) male audio cable if you buy this card!

The 250BTV does not come with a remote or the ir transmitter/receiver. The PVR150 on the Snapstream site is the retail card and does come with those items which makes it a better deal if you want/need those. The PVR150MCE should be much cheaper than the 250BTV if you want a closer comparison.
