Spoof Beyond Tv that Beyond Media is running?

I have no clue how it works, but I like that when you are running Beyond TV, you can back out of the menu to Beyond Media by clicking the back button without hitting the annoying exit button. Any way to spoof this and run something like Meedio and still have it back out the same way?

Uhh doubtful...

Thats actually only the first stage of "integration". Wait till you hear about the next stage...you won't even be thinking about Meedio.

And yes this is intended to be somewhat of a "teaser" response, but based on what I have heard I stand behind my statement.

I'm using myHTPC as a front end w/ BTV, and I have simply programmed one of the buttons on my Remote Wonder II to send an "Alt-Tab", which switches back to myHTPC from wherever I am to make another selection.

Re: Spoof Beyond Tv that Beyond Media is running?

I've got girder running with a faily complicated set of instructions to switch between Media Portal and BTV. Since I use Exclusive Fullscreen in BTV a simple alt tab doesn't do the trick. It's not working perfectly, I'd say about 85% success rate.

Basically is sends alt-enter to come out of fullscreen, then minimizes it. When it's time to go back to BTV it restores it the sends another alt-enter. Suprisingly it still stay in exclusive fullscreen mode after all that.

Boy, thats a shame. Even if I could get rid of that annoying "Do you really want to exit the Beyond Tv Viewscape" then things would be fine.

As far as the teaser response, you say that we wont even be thinking about Meedio?? Does that mean we will in the future not be able to use another front end period??

Edit the settings.xml file located in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV

Find "FSExitOption" and change it's value to "0" (without the quotes)

Voila!

No, it means the integration will be at a level so deep within BeyondMedia, that it would be kind of silly to use another frontend. Not impossible, just silly.

Re: Spoof Beyond Tv that Beyond Media is running?

I do plan to buy Beyond Media in the future, and I like the idea of them merging together better, but I dont think I am ready yet to take the leap.

Wheemer, as far as edting this setting, that makes my exit buton totally disapear. Anyway to make just the confirmation box go away?

That would be nice. I am currently using Meedio for my front-end. The use of media libraries and views currently beats out BM by a long shot. I would like to see BM have these tyoes of views. I love being able to have movie posters rather than thumbnails for listing my movies. I also have TV and Movies listed in seperate libraries within meedio.
