Was there ever a discount offered to existing BTV custumers ?

I apreciate the Existing customer/User discount offered to current registerd customers for the new Beyond Media Product but I am still decieding whether I really want or need it. Was there ever any offfer of a discount on the BTV Link product. It seems to me that more people would have apreciated that more than this one. Especialy since we lost the ability to stream to networked PC's when upgrading from 3.4x to 3.5x.
I thought that maybe I could extend my current BTV Link trial an extra 21 days by upgrading it to the latest 3.5.1 release but no it just upgrades and tells me I need to pay for it. I would trade my discount on Beyond Tv for a BTV link discount. How about an Xmas bundle offer for both for current BTV users and throw in some extra tuner licenses too! Come on Snapstream where is your Holiday spirit.

To answer your question, there was no BTV Link discount offered that I know of. Although, there is a bundle for a pack of 3 where you save $30.00.

As for the tuners, if you buy your TV tuners from SnapStream you don't need to worry about it because they are FREE .

Perhaps there will be some holiday discount. I mean its not entirely out of the question, although I wouldn't rely on it. Besides at *most* you probably would only be saving about $10 I would guess.

Hmmm.... That may be because you can't be a BTV link customer without first having BTV?
So everyone would get a discount?

I have no insight on possible disounts, but if it was up to me I wouldn't discount for the holidays. Maybe after I would, coincinding with the january sales.

Good point but no the answer I was hoping to here.
I dont see the need for Beyond Media, I like using MusicMatch as my music/Mp3 player and prefer to use a standalone DVD player for DVD's. I am more into the PVR/Tivo functions but want to be able to view my recordings on multiple TV's. I honesly think its a real waste to use a PC just to act as a client so I am going to get a MediaMVP and try that as a client but even thats not a perfect solution. I like Beyond Tv but dont really like paying for all the addons just to make it fully funtional. I probably never would have even built an HTPC if I had to pay for it all at once. It was so easy and cheap to get a Tivo for $99.00 + $4.99 a month DTIVO subcription fees.

Yes I am with you there.
I wouldn't buy a whole new PC to use solely as a client.

But geeks like most of us can usually get hold of cheap/old machines.
And I will certainly downgrade my server in a few months down to a client, and buying a few parts for both machines should keep costs within reason.

It's about WAF for me:
A centralized HTPC software with a 10 foot interface that works from the remote and similar controls as BTV is the only way I can get my wife to understand it.

How have we lost the ability to stream? I can still stream live tv to the other computers on my network via Web Admin.

You must be using a software capture device and not a hardware device like the winTv Pvr-250. As far as I know you must use someting like BTV link or a MediaMVp to get live TV to any other PC/TV. I would be happy to use Windows Media 9 for live TV if I could do it without haveing to pay another License fee.
