Question USB-UIRT tuning problem?

I am using BTV 3.5 with a BEV 2700 receiver and the Firefly remote. In the setup wizard the USB-UIRT changes the channel properly (although very slow). But the USB-UIRT will not make changes to the channel while running BTV 3.5. If I try to make a channel change through the program guide or channel up or down while watching TV nothing happens. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Re: USB-UIRT tuning problem?

I have the same problem. The setup program can tune the channels perfectly. Tuning for automated recordings seems to also works most of the time, but tuning from the program guide is unreliable and tuning while watching live TV is impossible... and yes I hit the enter key!

This seems to be a latency problem. The first digit almost always makes it to the set top box, but the second and/or third is iffy, at best. I've tried decreasing the transmission delay, with no positive affect. It appears that if the PC is busy doing anything, especially watching live TV, the IR transmission is too erratic.

Suggestions anyone???

Re: USB-UIRT tuning problem?

I get a similar problem, When a recording starts it seems to overload the system and the gap between sending the channel digits is erratic causing the wrong channel to be recorded. I get less problems if I am switching channels while watching live TV. I am using a software encoder and am considering getting a hardware encoder card to solve this.

My system worked well when I was running XP but started all this when I switched to using Windows 2003 server, I think it has added to the workload of the processor.
