Question Question: recording slightly overlapping programs in EPG?

I'm still in the "Trial" phase for BTV, but I ran into an issue yesterday, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something or there's an easy way around it.

My gf asked me to record a few shows for her last night -- Survivor (CBS, 8:00-9:00), CSI (CBS, 9:00-10:00), and ER (NBC, 9:59-11:00 in the EPG). Unfortunately, BTV then complains that CSI and ER "overlap", and it looks like it will only record one or the other (the "resolve conflicts" page would let me set the priority to choose one or the other, but not both). What I *want* it to do is to record CSI from 9:00-9:59, and then ER from 9:59-11:00. I would think the default behavior should be to do that if ER's priority was set higher than CSI, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Is there a way to make this happen?

I ended up setting up a manual recording for ER to get around it (from 10:00-11:00, and starting "1 minute early", and I set CSI to end "1 minute early"), but this is not a great solution -- it doesn't have the episode/recording time info along with the file (is there any way to edit this to add it to a manual recording?)

Thanks...

Yeah... it's a bit of a pain... and you can thank NBC for using those f'd-up times specifically to mess with PVRs (no, really - that's why they do it, b/c it's not a problem if you're only recording NBC).
A friend of mine asked me to record CSI and ER for her - and what I did is had ER set to record in the usual way, and CSI was a manual job that ran for 58 minutes (if it's set to 59, it will conflict).
