BTV 3.5 drops to desktop when trying to start recorded show (doesnt crash)

This prob started tonight for me... I had installed 3.5 this after noon and all seemed fine at the time.

Now, when I go into "recorded shows" and try to play just about any recording, BTV shows the screen "Starting Video" and then drops me out to the desktop.

BTV is still running and does not crash. I can go back into full screen and try to play another recording, but it drops me back out to the desktop.
