What are your time constraints...

Just wondering what the general concensus was on setting time constraints for showsqueezing.

Unfortunately no divx, so no showqueezing.

Re: What are your time constraints...

I doubt there can be a general consensus... I adjust my time constraints depending on circumstances. At the moment I am on the road, so I need to compress more shows and use the server for other things less at night so I use 10:30pm to 08:30am.

Some shows I start showsqueeze manually when I know my wife's not home yet (The news for example) so I can watch them the same day.

Yep. Same here.... Except on the road: Hard to download a whole day of recordings unless they're squeezed.

Choosing Cable/DSL quality (Crappy but small) allows me to showsqueeze everything and download everyday so I have all my programs from the road.
BTV is the greatest thing since slice bread as far as being able to do this.

Re: What are your time constraints...

Probably a dumb question, but is it still possible to view recorded shows and/or live tv while a showsqueeze job is executing without poor video quality? I currently record a lot of shows, and showsqueeze can't keep up with the number of shows I'm recording, so there's a larger and larger backlog each night. It would be great to be able to have showsqueeze going 24 hours a day.

Alternatively, is there any way that I could have two windows for showsqueeze - say from 2AM through 7AM, and then noon through 4PM?
