New Episodes <-> All Episodes

Why can't we do this in recording settings yet? The only way to change from New to All or visa-versa is to delete the job, then search for the show again, and then tell it to Record All (or New). In the job details screen it tells you New or All at the top. It should be an slide-box (just like the other options) so you can easily change it.

Also, when I am in "View Upcomming Episodes" (either from the EPG or Recording Settings), I would like to be able to get to the "View and resolve conflicts maunally" screen instead of just the "Record this Episode" option.

Please!

Those two I consider UI "bugs". Now here are some "feature requests":

I would also like a way to re-mark a viewed recording as "New" (which would also delete the "resume" position). ...or even better (though a BIG feature request ), you could have a "Move-To-Folder" option. Then, instead of just having "All Recordings", "By Show", and "By Video Folder" (which just shows all recordings in a selected folder) as the top-level options, you could also have each Video Folder (with its recordings listed by show) as an option. If you then made a Video Folder option which excluded its recordings from the "(All Folders) By Show", you would have a pretty powerful UI. Each member of the house hold could have their own folder with their own "saved" shows without cluttering the main "By Show" view. Single user setups could have an Archive folder to save "keepers" but reduce clutter.

It would also be nice to sort by original air date instead of recording date. To take that a step further, you could show all of the episodes of a show marking which ones you have, which ones you have seen and deleted, and which ones will be aired within the next 2-weeks. For any non-recorded episode, you could choose to not record it as an exception to Record All/New (which would mark it as "Seen and Deleted"). Also, If the show is setup to Record New, you could choose to record an episode if/when it airs even though it is a re-run.

SS: Is any of this in the current schedule? Please tell me you can take care of the first 2 soon. Those 2 are the biggest holes in your other-wise well thought-out interface.

Re: New Episodes <-> All Episodes

i like all these options (in fact, i posted about the "move to folder" idea) and have been lamenting their absence for some time. not being able to change the recording from "all" to "new" is especially bad.

one you didn't mention, and may not have noticed, is that recorded episodes are not remembered for very long. so if i record an episode of Monk, watch it, and delete it, and then it shows again three months later, it'll record again. i want to record an episode only once unless i specifically tell BTV to record it again.
