Byond TV Strange warning

Hi,

Today I scheduled a show (record all titles), but now I get some strange warnings:

'The show Kopspijkers, scheduled to record once at 8:05 PM on 10/23 on channel 3, was not found. Kopspijkers, which is on at that time, will be recorded instead'

So basically it says: I can't find 'KopSpijkers' on channel 3, I only found 'Kopspijkers', which we will record now.

;-)

And I'm getting that message over and over again.

Anyone had this problem before?

Using Beyond TV 3.5 latest version.

More than likely the EPGId for that particular show changed and because beyondtv is doing recordings based on epgid' but it managed to find a show with the same name in that slot it will record it.

Are you using XMLTV or some other method than snapstream.net to get guide data?

How could the EPGid changed? I installed BeyondTV today on a fresh Windows install. After I imported my XMLTV listings to BeyondTV, I reprogrammed all recordings.

Yes, I'm using XMLTV, this never happened before in the 3.5 beta or 3.4.

More important, how can I change this so it doesn't give the error anymore?

Delete the schedule, and program it again?

Re: Byond TV Strange warning

I think it's an issue with foreign characters in names. I had a show that I could NOT record for the life of me using the epg/snapstream.net guide - it would always schedule the job, it would show up in the 'upcoming recordings' - but then when it came to record it would say it couldn't find the show and I'd get a dozen warnings in the warning log window.

In the end I recorded it manually. I never found out whether it was a character in the title, or in the description that was tripping it - but it was also a foreign title much like the one you have problems with above.

Re: Byond TV Strange warning

I am getting a similar error, on two Nickelodeon shows for my son, Lazytown and Backyardigans. Half the time these show up in the prog guide with no show description, half times with, no rhyme or reason. THen I get a list of errors, sometimes over and over, saying exactly what yours said.

THen one day it really screwed up. These are back to back, and the first recorded fine, then it recorded seven to ten 1MB fractions, before recording the what was left of the second program. It only has done this once so far, and I do have padding enabled (1 minute) for shows.

I may switch away from padding for all shows, and just manuallky add time to shows where I know they screw up the time (FX is notorious for this). Anyone else have clues?

The error is now gone. I simply removed the scheduling job, and reprogrammed it.

I may be reading too much into your message, but it is highly likely that Snapstream does not consider "KopSpijkers" and "Kopspijkers" to be the same show. It may simply be a matter that Snapstream pays attention to case and that the EPG changed the 'spelling' at some point by removing the capitalization after you had already scheduled the show.

That uppercase S was a typo, see attached image with that message, both names are the same.
