3.5 crashes hard

I used 3.4 with absoulutely no problems. I 've upgraded to 3.5 and nothing but problems. It worked for a day, crashed. Start Live TV crash...hard reset to get back up. Run wizard, crashes on set up video audio screen. I'm using a pvr250 and a gforce card. Anyone have any ideas? What is the fundamental difference between 3.5 and 3.4? I'm using the latest drivers for the tuner and the video card. I think it has something to do with the services or something is getting corrupted after some use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I even reinstalled 3.4 but it said it couldn't register it even though I had the key.

I'm kinda in the same boat here. Tried installing even the beta version as well as the final version, and it just caused nothing but grief. Even had to cleanly reload the box because the journaling file system under Windows 2000 became so corrupt that it couldn't be easily salvaged. Did a clean full system check and a hard drive repartition, reformat, and clean reload of Windows 2000, and all my applications, as Snap 3.4, and it's back to full normal operation. Everything works well.

I'll probably wait til 3.6 comes out and maybe try that.

I tried to load 3.4 and it wouldn't work. First said can't register, fixed that, then it said can't capture device...any ideas?

Try HWClear and reloading your '250 drivers.

I had a similar issue with the Hauppauge Intervideo decoder. I think that I must have trashed something about the decoder from all the uninstalls/reinstalls that I did for my 250 during beta testing. Have you tried any other decoder settings ?



What is your video card driver ?



Can you record shows ?



Can you playback old or new recordings ?



What are your recording settings ?



What are your encoder settings ?

Using the latest drivers from Happ's website.
I can playback recordings. That's it....wizard hangs at test video and audio...can do a contro alt delete to get rid of it.

Are you using a custom recording setting or one of the BTV defaults ? This looks interesting:

Are you using 320x240 for Exclusive Fullscreen Resolution ? Maybe try different resolutions for this setting.

Yep...the '250 doesn't support that resolution.

Id say since its dying at the end of the graph setup that either there is something really wrong with your pvr250 drivers or there is something wrong with the decoder beyondtv is trying to use, you might want to just blow the hole thing away and start from scratch (uninstall btv delete the snapstream directory under all users\appdata, and under program files, then reinstall) because it sounds like from all the removing / resetting something is horribly confused at this point, personally speaking if the system hasnt been formatted in 6 months its probably a good idea to just wipe and reinstall everything.

Are you using 320x240 for Exclusive Fullscreen Resolution ? Maybe try different resolutions for this setting.

I'm going to delete all things Snapstream (including registry) and try again...by the way, where do you set the resolution? In the web admin?

Robert I'm going to take your advice and delete everything and start from scratch. I just can't re-format and re-install the hard drive.
