BTV Link Conflict Resolution

I found the following in a (p)review of BTV 3.5 beta on Anandtech.

Quote:
Since conflict management is a server side issue, that option is not available in Beyond TV Link.
This worries me. I am planning on setting up my backend BTV server as a headless (no monitor/keyboard/mouse) server that I access remotely using Remote Desktop to administer. Ideally I want to leave it running in a back room somewhere and never have to interact with it directly save for periodical s/w upgrades and windows patching. I hope to access ALL my BTV functionality through the connected BTV link client. Why should I not be able to resolve recording conflicts using the client? Surely the purpose of a client is to interface with a server and drive it? Have I got the wrong end of the stick here? Is there any other functionality that I won't be able to drive using the BTV link client? This could seriously affect my purchasing decision.

The article is wrong. I just tested this for yah, CR works fine on BTV Link. AFAIK, all features should work fine on BTV Link.

We did not completely clarify that point. It was in reference to the time generation issue that is derived from the server side. You still need to resolve recordings that come into conflict with other set recordings, even on the client side.

Gotcha you were talking about the "warning" issues.

Aaaaah. Gotcha. You're talking about the server warnings such as local/server time errors etc. That makes more sense...I can kinda see why these would only be on the server.

Thanks for clearing this up.
