Exclamation XMLTV -> BTV: EVERY channel listing is wrong!

but it's not XMLTV's fault.. I open up the .xml file and all the listings are right.. but in BTV they are all wrong.

I've used both of the bigger xml -> BTV converters (Beyond TV XML TV Importer and PVS XML Import) and both of them do the same thing..

I can't even find what's really on at the moment anywhere in the listing!

Like right now on Comedy Central, it's the USO Comedy Tour.. but I don't see it anywhere in the listing for today or anything.

Re: XMLTV -> BTV: EVERY channel listing is wrong!

Hello,

When you are using Beyond TV XMLTV Importer (ake the "new" one), could you describe the problem you are experiencing : I saw your other post with the error in the BTV Logs.

When using this importer, does the data is imported at all : with what it is in your log, no data should be imported. Unfortunately I can't do anything to help you with this error (this is BTV that cannot import, not the importer failing).

But from what I see in your log, I suggest that you make a clean install of BTV (CPVSGuideUpdaterSingleton::ProcessData() - failed to create PVSGuideDataProcessor object: 0x80040154 is not good at all).

Some are suggesting reinstalling .Net and MDAC will help.

The other importer should not have any problem importing as it access the database directly (but is a little trickier to setup). If you don't see anything make sure that you choose the right time offset.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: XMLTV -> BTV: EVERY channel listing is wrong!

With your program (which I like the better of the two), I can click Beyond TV Update and it will say "The guide update task has been launched," but when I read my logs I get the error I stated in the other post.

Strangely enough, there is some importing into BTV, since I get shows that normally do appear on the station, and the station names appear and everything, it's just the right shows aren't displaying..

I will try a clean install of BTV, although I just installed .net and MDAC and this is a fresh install of XP.

Re: XMLTV -> BTV: EVERY channel listing is wrong!

If you have something in your guide, maybe this is what was left by the other importer (Or you have not selected the right lineup for your videosource).

You can check if the data produced by the importer are correct if you install the web based program guide (you'll find it where you downloaded the importer, it works on top of IIS on Windows XP Pro, if IIS is not installed yet, don't forget to enable ASP.Net after installing IIS, you'll find all useful info on this on my web site).

The data you'll see in your browser should be the one Beyond TV display in the guide.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: XMLTV -> BTV: EVERY channel listing is wrong!

I read the .xml file in internet explorer and the times/dates were right.. so this is how I came to the conclusion that the .xml file was right and it isn't XMLTV's fault..

Edit: A clean install fixed it.. and now all the show listings are Unavailable.

Yes but you read your XMLTV file, not the XML files produced by the importer that you can fin in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\3rdPartyGuideData and those are not so easy to read as schedules are separated from program description.

If all is unavailable this is surely because :

a) All data are out of date (old XMLTV file, or wrong time offset)
b) You don't choose the lineup for your videosource

Stéphane.
