Question Motorola DCT2224

I have cracked my DCT2224 open, as when I connected it, in the menu it asked for a password. Being that I didn't have a password, I pulled it open (I hate torx nuts) and clipped the battery lead to clear the memory. re-soldered the battery lead, and plugged it in, everything powers up just find, but on the TV I dont get anything but a black screen.
Should I have not clipped the battery lead?
Anyone know what I have done?

probably completely fried the flash rom on the board... or some other sensitive chip on that.. All you can do now is to fess up to the cable company and pay for a new one.

Re: Motorola DCT2224

Oh well, all I was hopin on doing was gettin free PPV. I already have full cable, I just dont get the movie channels. My father is a manager of an Apt. Building and someone left this in thier apt (as well as leaving a hell of a mess).

So I dont really care that I destroyed it

If industry wasn't so greedy, there wouldn't be people like me.
