PVR250/remote & BTV3 Installation issues

New Install- Put card in with remote pickup. Installed Driver only from Hauppauge v1.8 disk. Installed BTV 3.44 software. Configured (it recognized my PVR250 as PVR II or something sim). It would not see the Hauppauge silver remote. The video is about a second behind the sound.
Should I have installed more software from Hauppauge disk? Any help sure will be appreciated.
P.S. Live TV Grainy. Haven't recorded. I'm running 800x600 resolution. New to this stuff.

Did you install the Hauppauge IR Remote software? This software needs to be installed and running for it to work.

OK That worked enough to get the wizard to recognize silver remote & it is desplayed in the sys tray & a little popup keeps saying it recognizes ir remote. I have batteries installed but it doesn't do anything. Do I have to turn it on or something?
How much of that Hauppauge Software am I supposed to install? Should I install a decoder or something? I didn't install the Win2000 stuff cause I fgured I didn't need it with BTV. Where am I going wrong? Besides the obvious of getting in over my head with this computer thingy(but I guess we're all guilty there)

Did you install the IR receiver? Just a quick thought.

Yes, Plugged it in to the PVR250/velcroed it where remote can hit that little eye.

Did you install also the TV2000 ? If yes, does remote work with it?

Thanks Bankz, Mars & MacS. I unplugged it and replugged it and now it works. Now the Video being a second behind the Audio. Could someone tell me how much Software I should install from the Hauppauge CD?

Yes, exactly, how they desribed it. I did it, and BTV works for me with PVR250 and remote.

This driver version works better with Intervideo WinDVD players which might be installed on your PC. To improve compatibility with WinDVD, you need to install the latest Hauppauge Video decoder (hcwsmd04.exe) and this driver.

To install:

• Download three files to your computer:
  HCWCLEAR
  PVR_INF files: pvr250_18_inf.zip
  WinTV-PVR Update: PVR250_18_22037.exe
• Run HCWCLEAR. This will remove the current WinTV-PVR drivers and applications.
• Unzip the pvr250_18_inf.zip file to a temporary directory.
• Then reboot your computer.
• When your system restarts, the "Add New Hardware wizard" will run.
  In the Add Hardware Wizard first screen, select "Advanced". Then click "Next".
  In the next menu, select "Include this location in the search" and enter the location of your temporary directory where you unzipped the pvr250_inf.zip file to install the base driver. Then click "Next". Click "Continue anyway". Click "Finish".
• After Windows has loaded the base driver, run the PVR250_18_22037.exe driver updater.

This will complete the driver installation for the PVR250/350.

I forgot to add that you need also drvier for IR (On the same Hauppague page):

Latest version the IR remote control software. Now supports Pause, Replay and Skip buttons on the remote control.
Also, now runs under Windows2000.

OK guys, You see by now that I'm a little slow. Are you saying that I should have installed the whole Hauppauge CD? Then do these updates? Do I need the Decoder(hcwsmd04.exe) which is at the top of that download page. I have only installed the PVR250 driver, the IR REMOTE software from Hauppauge cd & the BTV software.
