ASUS DigiMatrix PC - nice HTPC case and setup!

ASUS now has the DigiMatrix, nice case and lots of connections.

Unforunately its custom and appears to have no slots.

Anyone know what capture card it uses and could we convert it for use with BeyondTV?

Just curious...

Re: ASUS DigiMatrix PC - nice HTPC case and setup!

The Digimatrix has been out for a while. I think I picked mine up in February. It does record fine with BeyondTV although you should get a 2.4ghz or better processor. I bought a Celeron 2ghz and it was maxing the cpu out and causing audio-sync problems.

I am recording from Satelite to a custom 720x480 setting (2.5GB/hr). The playback (using a modified xbox) is decent on my 56" tv / pretty much equivalent to watching live satelite.

The LiveTV function has not worked to-date. I opened an issue shortly after setting BeyondTV up, and now with the 3.5beta they are starting to look into it.

There are no PCI slots in this PC. You buy the bare pc and add a cpu (there is a custom heatsync included), hard drive, and memory. There is a parallel cable slot on the back if you wanted to mount a 2nd hard drive external.

It is a fairly innovative pc. The only real dumb design is the digital audio out port is in the front and you'd have to leave the front cover open all the time to use it.
