PVR250 remote

Not a purchasing decision but,

Can the remote supplied with a retail PVR-250 be persuaded to work with Beyond TV?

I'm using it. Also check out the irremote.ini file if you want to change what some of the buttons do.

wow really? damn ... now i have to try and figure out where that remote is. I never did anything with it. In fact i cant even remember if one came in the box or not. Does it also come with the IR receiver?

I googled and found something someone had just made up. I think I have it bookmarked at home but its not my BTV computer so I don't have access to it from work. I'll post it tonight after work if I find it.

OK. Here is the link I was thinking of.

You don't have to exit BTV. Just exit the full screen. Close the Exit IR from the system tray. Edit the ini file and restart the IR prog. It's likely in your startup folder. Then test. BTV can be running and recording stuff the whole time.

The section your interested in is at the bottom the "beyond tv" section.

Note that whatever application has the focus determines what section of the ini is used.
Note that if you dont have a key defined in the active section then it will use whatever is in the default section.

The link just shows what keys are what. Its pretty obvious by looking at the ini iteself to determine how it works.

To just test buttons and if they work check out the [Debug.txt] section.

There is a key the is not labled on the silver remote from the pvr-250 card. Someone posted it and I'm now using it. The label is "FUNC"

So I wonder how I can make the green button on my Hauppauge remote to command {f6} under any condition?


Any thoughts? Would would the necessary changes be to the Irremote.ini file be?

Nevermind, I just tinkered and figured out how to get the blank button (FUNC) to work the \mode fs command (BTV fullscreen shortcut) by adding FUNC={f6} to the irremote.ini file at this position in the file (IN BOLD BELOW):

...has been implemented as an F6 shortcut that will execute BTV in fullscreen mode from my keyboard, which now will also execute from the blank button (FUNC key) on my Hauppauge remote control in any mode. That is really, really cool

too funny. I see that I have the line.
FUNC={pgup}{ctrl}{left}

and here I thought I had just hit the wrong remote key last time I used it. I'll have to take that extra {pgup} out of there. Nothing like coping and pasting a missake in your own file to the message boards...
