Can't tell BTV to record program

I have Beyond TV configured to record all episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise. It's on at 11pm tonight. In the Program Guide, it shows up with a red A with a 'do not' over it. There are no other programs being recorded tonight or tomorrow. Why won't it be recorded?

When I go to the event and select 'Record this episode', there is no change. If I select 'Do not record any episodes' and then 'Record all episodes' there still is no change.

I can find no explanation as to why this won't record. What am I missing?

Re: Can't tell BTV to record program

It will show this symbol if:
- The show has already been recorded and is on the drive
- The show has a conflict (wich you say it does not)
- The show will be recorded on a future date/re-airing
- The guide data defining that show is corrupted and doesnt have the information btv needs to tell if it has recorded it or not
About the only thing you can do since its more than likely #4 is to setup a manual recording or remove the record all job and then tell it to do a record once for that show, then when its done setup the record all again. btv3.5 will have better handling of these issues as it will let you override the (/) problem on a per-show basis if need be. It will also give an explanation of why its not going to do something.

Re: Can't tell BTV to record program

Thanks. What is the significance of "The show will be recorded on a future date/re-airing"? Why would that prevent the current showing from being recorded?

That doesn't sound good. Is there any way to straighten out the guide data to prevent this from happening next time?

I removed the 'record all jobs', but it still wouldn't let me record once. I ended up doing a manual recording.

I thought the current version (and even earlier versions) provided an explanation as to why something wouldn't be recorded. Did that feature disappear temporarily, or am I just dreaming?

Re: Can't tell BTV to record program

The engine is somewhat intellegent and may have inadvertantly scheduled the same show to record in the future for who knows what reason, in 3.5 the multi-tuner scheduler will think like that so if youve got a show that is first run but it conflicts with another one at the same time it will look into the future (oooh) to see if it can record the same episode without conflicts

Unfortunately snapstream has no control over the guide data, they can inform the provider that the data is corrupted but for the most part these are one-time type things or it is something with the cable network not giving tribune media the correct data for the period

more than likely it thought for whatever reason that you already had the show on your drive somewhere

Im thinking the same thing But I have absolutely no idea where it is, i think it only shows up when doing a web setup recording not from the gui, in 3.5 it will show you in the gui
