I am running this in Australia - to record/watch Foxtel Digital
Worked pretty well..
I used to use YourTV Scheduler with version 3.4 -- but this no longer works with 3.5

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

What do you use to change the channels on the Foxtel Digital box?

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

I'm using it in Australia, Sydney to be exact.

I use a USB-UIRT to control my Foxtel Digital box. I also use this XMLTV Importer to import my EPG.

The full details of my setup can be found here http://delicategeniusblog.com/?page_id=16.

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

I use it too, with FTA and Austar.

I use a USBUIRT also. In fact I have a spare one if you want it?

I use D1s XML grabber and Stephane;s BTVXMLTVImporter with two lineups. Also use a scheduling program to get the data and run the importer a couple times a week.

Guide data is rather irratic though. But I'm not complaining while its free!

Jamie

Oh and the guide data can be downloaded over ISDN in about 10min, as apposed to hours via TVHarvest.

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

Jamie,

The main reason I switched to TVHarvest over the D1 Grabber was that the D1 service wasn't bringing down episode descriptions. Is this still the case?

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

Yeah, mostly. Although some weeks are better than others. There service really is rather flaky. Pity because it started off really good. I have also noticed they have gone from 7 days worth of data to about 3. Hope it doesn't get any worse or I'll be going back over to TVharvest too.

Pity ICETV is so expensive! You can use it now, even though it says its not supported yet.

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

I'd get ICETV if they supported Foxtel Digital.

It might be worth giving TVHarvest another go, it's been working fine for me for months.

I've also written a little util which merges two XMLTV files as TVHarvest needs to be run twice to bring in Foxtel and FTA separately.

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

Actually to make life harder I am in SA, so the times for each lineup are different, as Austar is satalite its on EST, but my FTA is CST. Bit of a pain to do really. I have to run batch files to change the timezone of BTVimporter for each lineup I import. As it ignores the xml time and uses its own.

I won't do anything for now. I am waiting for btv4 before I make any major changes. I want to do a complete reinstall from scratch.

Cheers
Jamie

In the latest version (3.1 and up) of the Importer you do not need to do that anymore. The Importer can import more than one XMLTV file (no need to merge them before) and for each XMLTV file you can specify the time offset to use.

Stéphane.

Re: Anyone using this in Australia?

Hi Stephane,

Ahh wonderful! I have actually downloaded the latest version with a donation! 8-) But haven't tried it yet, as I was waiting for BTV4. I'll go and take a look!

Thanks again for an excellent prog!

Cheers
Jamie
