Angry SS WMV quality settings doesn't support "allow nonsquare output"?

WHY SS WMV quality settings doesn't support "allow nonsquare output" like in WMEncoder9? This setting is very useful! So we can capture native NTSC or PAL (non-4:3 square pixel) and still play correctly in computer using WMP!

Well i’m not very familiar with WMEncoder so maybe I don’t know what im talking about here, but you can select a custom resolution for your WMV recordings so you do not have to use a 4:3 aspect ratio.

yes, but then when playback, the non-4:3 aspect ratio will not be played correctly. It will have black bars on the sides~

Maybe I’m not understanding but it plays back properly on my system (no black bars). What kind of tuner card do you have?

Anything other than 320x240 gives me black bars in WMP.
I am capturing PAL, so I would like to be able to cap in 352x288 or 352x576.

Well if I had to guess I would say that the limitation is not SnapStream, but rather your tuner card. Perhaps it only has a set number of resolutions that it can record at?

Edit: but then again you said that wmencoder does ok? Hmm…

??? The file itself is fine! The capture is fine!
The black bars are from WMP!
