Question PVS & Remote Desktop - WinXP desktop instead of logon screen after disconnect/logoff?

I don't know how to word this, so I'll describe the part I don't like. This isn't a function of PVS but of Remote Desktop in WinXP Pro.

- Windows and PVS running on system
- Remote Desktop to that system
- Screen saver starts while I'm connected
- PVS FSUI stops but PVS still is running
- Either "disconnect" or "logoff" from the remote system will cause the screensaver to continue running.
- If I go to the PVS system and stop the screensaver, I get the logon screen.
- I have to click on the user name and enter in my password.
-
- Instead, I would like to see the WinXP desktop

The reason this is inconvenient becomes clearer when using the ATI RemoteWonder with no mouse or keyboard. I can't enter in my password!

Any ideas?
Thanks!

unfortunately you cant get around this, because of the design of XP pro once the RD session is started the local console is disabled and pushed back to eitehr the logon screen or the switch user screen depending on system. A better solution would be to use winvnc to do remote management if necessary, or to get a wireless keyboard/mouse. You might also be able to get around it if you set the account to not have a password and if the remote wonder can send keypresses to the logon screen

vnc is a wonderful thing... though I've noticed that the terminal services works 'smoother' across the internet.

yeah terminal services is nice because it has lower bandwidth requirements, and as a note to using girder I dont think that will work while the logon screens are up wether it be the logonui or the regular windows ctrl+alt+delete logon, the security layer in windows filters all the input devices while they are up and doesnt send anything down stream so most programs that dont trap and send events at the kernel level will not be able to interact with the logon screen. Even my multimedia keyboard the mute and multimedia keys dont work when at the swap user screen and it uses a kernel level service driver to process them.
