Re: change the naming convention?

You can't. You can rename the files after recording, but that's about it.

Re: change the naming convention?

You can use BTVShowInfo, or you can do it from the web admin.

Re: change the naming convention?

I messed with BTVShowInfo, I could not find a way to automatically rename it. Could you please let me know how this program works? I couldn't find any real documentation. I am trying to get it organized like:
\family guy\season 1\ep1
or
\family guy\se01-ep01
or
\family guy\origonal air date
or
anything that will work for a scraper in XBMC.

Basically I need a way to convert it to a internationally recognized format so that it will go into my library in XBMC and pull up fan-art/images as well as plot and show information.

I've got it organized through the web admin to automatically record all shows in their own folder which is recognized by scrapers as the actual show ie...
\family guy
\south park
\dora the explorer
\arthur

I've just got to get the naming convention right.

Re: change the naming convention?

Actually I was wrong, what you want to do is change the name of the file on disk. Teh option I gave were for changing the meta data of the file. The only way I know to do what you are asking is to manually do it from within windows. I know of no tool to do it automatically. Also I don't really see how it could. Episode number and season information is not something that is retained in the meta data by BTV.

Re: change the naming convention?

I have yet to try it, but there was a utility to do this posted here: TheTVDB.com Tagger Plugin for BTVShowInfo

It would need to look up the season and episode numbers based on the series and episode names, I'd assume since BTV doesn't store those, so I'd expect it to be rather hit and miss.
