Error message, what does it mean?

I just got this error message:

Beyond TV detected a problem with the recorder "Antenna (Digital) - 713x BDA ATSC Tuner" and recycled it.

What does it mean? Does "and recycled it" mean the problem was corrected?

Thanks

Re: Error message, what does it mean?

Recycled means the process that controls that tuner was aborted and re-started. Hopefully, that "fixed" the problem (the bug that caused it is still there, but hopefully you won't get there again)

It's the same when tech support tells you to re-boot and see if the problem goes away.

Thanks, one of those message that is totally useless and it would be better if it never even came up cause it doesn't provide a bit of information to correct or even ID the problem.

I'm going to be REALLY if this problem keeps me from recording "Fast Forward" or the season premier of "Hero's".

Re: Error message, what does it mean?

I've seen several of those HDHR "recycled" messages in the last few days. From the logs it's not clear that BTV was even trying to do anything with a tuner at the time it "detected a problem."

The thing I find interesting about this is that *nothing* has happened to the BTV system recently that should have any bearing on the HDHR tuners. None of the FW/SW for the HDHRs has seen touched around the time that the "recycled" messages started (did update the HDHRs to 20091024 about two weeks ago, but the "recycled" messages only appeared on 11/6 & 11/7). No Windows OS or BTV SW has been updated. I did recently change the video card on the PC (old nVidia 7800 GT for new ATI 4670) but I don't see how that would impact interaction with the HDHRs.

Re: Error message, what does it mean?

Well, it's pretty bizarre, but after reverting to my old nVidia 7800 GT video card, and now with a newer nVidia 9800 GT, the HDHR "recycle" problem has gone away, for the last week. I would love to know what SW bug explains BTV 4.92 + ATI card & driver 9.10 = "HDHR recycle" problems but BTV + nVidia card & driver does not... ???
