Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

Check your Nvidia control panel, do you have a tab called HDCP?

If you do, do you have issues with video/picture having a purple/green tint on it or it changes to purple-ish or green-ish colors?

If you do, please list your video card, the driver you are using and the OS version (example: Nvidia 8400GS - 190.62 - XP Pro 32-bit)

I noticed that if I switch from Overlay to 3D Accelerated the colors go to normal.

Gigabyte 9500, control panel version 2,2,350,00, no hdcp tab, I am using hdmi out. I chose this nvidia driver (181.20 geoforce) because it fixes the lost hdmi audio coming out of standby, but does not give me low color depth on HDMI out like newer driver do (maybe related to your HDCP tab)

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

nVidia 9600 GSO, running driver 190.62 and Windows 7 RC1. I have green sections of the screen in overlay mode for SD. HD works fine. Because of this I switched to 3D mode, which does not have the problem.

Update: I just installed Windows 7 Official Release and it seems to have fixed my problem. I can watch SD and HD using overlay mode without the green and purple tint.

Changing from overlay to 3D works -- but don't forget to set the deinterlacing mode to Hardware.

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

I just recently upgraded my whole pvr setup (sig does not reflect upgrade) Anyway, I went to vista 32bit and a quad core setup. With an older gaming card I used.. 8800GTX, I have had no problem with the HDHR's that I am running in HD but the Analog card I use for the normal cable channels did this to me with the tint, Changing over to 3d works but puts an extra strain on Processor as well as vid card, The solution that I found works for me after a week of screwing around is to use Nvidia's Pure Video encoder, After you install it and pick it from the setting in BYTV, you need to change some of the settings in the decoder that is in the system tray, Pick Perfer Overlay, And Anamorfic/raw Aspect. After changing these settings my colors for the analog card went back to looking normal. Side note: Nvidia claims that the Pure Video decoder is not supported for vista, but it does work at least on my system.

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

AMD Atholon X2

Windows 7 32bit

NVidia GForce 8600 GT

Driver Version - 190.38 (8.15.11.9038)

- Switching to 3d from overlay - did remove the green/pink issue for now - this seems to recude the quality though -- getting a little 'stuttery' -- Not enhancing the chanes of going from trial version here guys!

-- I'm was a tad adverse to everything being pink & green

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

I now have two systems showing this behavior:
nVidia 8600 GTS - 190.62 - Vista 32
nVidia 9400 GT - 190.62 - Vista 64

The problem only seems to affect Standard Def MPEG2 streams or files. HD streams and DivX files appear normal.

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

Hopefully this will shed some light. I happened to be looking for updates to my laptop today and noticed this BIOS update for my 8700 GTS (linked below). Under the Fixes and Enhancements, it specifically and only says it "Corrects Yellow Tint Issue".

I personally haven't experienced the issue, but I also do not run BeyondTV on my laptop. The HTPC has an older Nvidia 7300GS that doesn't have this problem. It may be worth asking Nvidia's support if there is an updated BIOS available. Also, you can find out your Bios version in the Nvidia control panel's System Info under the Help menu.

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

Just to follow up...changing from overlay to 3D mode in BTVlink fixed everything.

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

nVidia released a bunch of new drivers in the last week. Last night I updated the chipset drivers, HDMI audio driver, and graphics drivers on three separate Vista 32 PC's without problems. All PC's are now using graphics driver 191.07. For the first time in months I do not have any green tint, no odd green borders, and no fractured looking screens. Also, I am now able to use either overlay mode or 3D rendering, again.

Your mileage may vary...

Re: Nvidia video card users, question for you. Green/Purple colors/tint.

I just installed the nVidia 191.07 drivers and it fixed the SD overlay video on both of my machines.

... and I didn't notice any new problems yet...
