Watched shows marked as New

Minor annoyance....

We record all Phineas and Ferb episodes and have watched most of our recordings yet most still show the "N" next to them as if they have not been watched.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I searched and couldn't find anything. Am I being dense and missing something obvious? Sure I can try watching them again and see if the N goes away, but that doesn't really explain why it is still there.

BTW, most have the lock as well as I have plenty of disk space and I don't want things aging off on their own.

Thanks!

Re: Watched shows marked as New

Did you set your history to 0 from the default 30?

Re: Watched shows marked as New

I guess I would have to say no, since I have no idea what you are talking about....

Can you elaborate a bit? I have not even heard of this setting. I will try to find it in the guide.

Re: Watched shows marked as New

In the web admin it's in Settings >> Advanced Settings >> Miscellaneous Settings. Although I didn't realize that would have anything to with if a show is marked as New or not. Have you manually moved them outside of BTV this sounds like the most likely option since you say they also are locked. Do you have the option set for different users to use different watch points? This will make it so that if you watch a recording under one user profile a different user profile will still see it as new. That setting is also under the same menu option in the web admin as the recent record days it's called User Specific Watched Points.

Re: Watched shows marked as New

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought he was talking about new recordings in guide...not already recorded.

We all watch all the programs under the same user and I have not moved any shows off the drive, BUT I do remember renaming and creating some directories so I might have moved them within BTV so that it thought they were new.

Is there any way to mark these as "watched" without watching them?

Thanks,

A

Re: Watched shows marked as New

In the web admin you can mark several shows as watched at one time. In the viewscape you would have to start each show and then stop it.

Re: Watched shows marked as New

Just FYI shows being marked as new are not really a problem as far as expiration goes. Now if they are set as keep until I delete, then that will be a problem. You can also set multiple shows to keep until space is needed in the web admin.

If you move a file using the web admin it will mark the file as keep until I delete and new, so that's probably what did it..

Re: Watched shows marked as New

Thanks again, I forget sometimes that the web admin has a bunch of additional features.

I might have done my file moves outside of BTV - using explorer to reorganize. Maybe made BTV think they were new.

Thanks again for all the help.

A.
