Re: Vista Service Pack 2
I'd just like to note that in Windows 7, the same TYPE of issue occurs, but it's even worse.
It doesn't break programs like games or iTunes by causing you to restart the program, but it changes the volume levels, viewable in the windows audio mixer. It seems to permanently screw up the volume, since windows sounds play very softly, and if I test the volume level repeatedly, I can hear the louder volume sometimes. Also it's nice to see that this bug is now official, seeing as I first reported it back in late may: Warning: Do not install Windows Vista SP2 Last edited by Crazydog; 07-27-2009 at 08:51 PM. |

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
This is getting ridiculous. A known issue for months and no fix. The idea that it is prudent to run Vista without installing service pack 2 is ridiculous.
Just about everything in service pack 2 is necessary. It contains a bunch of security patches that are computer suicide to run without. It contains functionality patches that correct bad errors. The real answer here is that if you are running Vista or Windows 7 don't buy Beyond TV. So, are you guys gonna fix this or do I need to buy something else that works? Re: Vista Service Pack 2
Just for everyone's reference I have never experienced the audio cutting out completely while using beyond tv LINK on vista sp2. I do, however, frequently experience audio corruption(system wide, everything sounds garbled but still recognizable) while using beyond tv link. If this is beyond tv causing it, the only solution i've found is closing all applications using audio, then re-opening them.
I think this has more to do with my sound card though, because i never had this problem with my previous sound card. BTV Link OS: Vista SP2 32-bit Sound card: Soundblaster X-fi Titanium f4tality Old sound card: Soundblaster Audigy 4 BTV server os: XP sp2 Sound card: none ![]() Hope this helps somehow. |

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
I get the same problem with my X-FI. But it happens rarely, and only since I started using the DD/DTS encoding pack. Intersting you mention the A4 worked fine w/ vista, all I could get mine to do was cause blue screens.

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
I'd just like to update the situation with Windows 7 that I mentioned above.
On my system (Win 7 x64 7600 (RTM) GA-P35-DS3L w/ Realtek HD Audio) When tasks are started, sound cuts out for a second or two, but comes right back. |

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
I'm experiencing the exact same problem described here. Whenever a recording stops all sound-producing programs (including BTV is I'm watching a recording) go silent or just crash. Been going on for months now (I guess since SP2 was installed.)

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
I just received an email from Adrienne Gonzalez to follow the instructions below. In my initial tests, the issue is, in fact, resolved.

Re: Vista Service Pack 2
Could someone (or a few people) please verify that the above works. I had to do a fresh install and am running SP1 with no upgrades. I would hate to do the upgrade only to find that things are still screwed up.
Better yet. Could we get someone at Snapstream to do the experiment and mark this issue as resolved? We have Windows 7 coming up in a few days. Is this ready for that too? |
