Unable to Playback Files

My graphics card died and I had to install a new graphics card. After installing the new card I can't view most of the files that BeyondTV is creating. I am assuming it's a graphics card issue since it turned on when I installed the new card.

I have tried re-installing the graphics card, as well as installing the newest Beyond TV. When I installed the newest Beyond TV it mentioned something regarding being "not able to Render". I'm guessing this might have something to do with it.

For more info:
Graphics card - ASUS H3450
Capture Card - Hauppage WinTV HVR1600

Re: Unable to Playback Files

I have installed the latest drivers from ASUS website and no change. I still can't play the video files.

Some files work, others don't (unfortunatley most don't). I've yet to see a pattern as to why.

Re: Unable to Playback Files

The rendering error only displayed on Install. On launching I get no errors.

When I try to play a file it gives me a message saying "Can't find file, it's corrupt" or something like that.

Re: Unable to Playback Files

Have you tried playing these files with VLC or similar? I'm pretty sure that it is a corrupt BTV configuration file. You mention that some shows play, are they in the same folder? Is there a correlation between the recorded date and whether they will play. Try deleting your default recordings folder in web admin and create a new default folder. Then see if it records and plays. If it does, you can reset the original folder as your default or move the files to the new folder in Windows explorer.

I seem to remember that I solved a similar/same problem by deleting one of the BTV configuration files (can't remember which one).

Re: Unable to Playback Files

I tried VLC and nothing. It doesn't even pop up a window to show the files, but it appears to play.

I also tried Mpeg2Repair and it couldn't find the video portion of the files.

Now I'm turning off showsqueeze to see if that makes a difference.

Re: Unable to Playback Files

I think we assumed that these were mpeg files, but you say they are showsqueezed so it sounds to me like they are not being properly encoded. Are you deleting the mpeg after showsqueezing?

Re: Unable to Playback Files

Yes the MPEG is being deleted after encoding. It's encoding to a different format (don't recall it specifically right now). That new format can't play on anything.

Re: Unable to Playback Files

It appears to be a show squeeze configuration or corruption problem, so I would start there. I don't use show squeeze so I can't help you much, but somebody who uses shows squeeze should be able to help you get the issue corrected.
