Adding a USB tuner to beyond TV 4

I have Beyond TV 4.1 with Vbox PCI single tuner card for over 2 years. I plan to add a USB tuner to have a dual tuner PVR.
TigerDirect is selling Avermedia AverTV HD Volar USB. I am wondering anyone has experience with this USB stick tuner and if it works with Beyond TV 4 as one of the two tuners.
I'd appreciate if someone can give me some advices on how to add a new USB tuner and configure it properly in the setup wizard.

1. Check with Snapstream to see if that tuner is on the approved list.

2. install the card with drivers.

3. add the tuner to BTV, and while you're at it, upgrade BTV to the latest.

I've been using the AverTV HD Volar for a couple of years with BTV with no problems. I find that it's not as sensitive in picking up stations as my other tuners, but it has no problems with strong signals. If its installed properly and shows up in your Device Manager, then the Snapstream Wizard will find it without any difficulty.

Re: Adding a USB tuner to beyond TV 4

I'm using an AverTv Hybrid Volar Max and I can't get it to be detected by Beyond TV.

It works fine otherwise.
