Did you import the guide data over?

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

The best way to create a custom lineup is to actually run the setup wizard, and perform a manual scan w/o guide data. After the scan, it will test the signal of the channels, so make sure you have a good signal. This will create a local lineup on your computer. After that, open up the Web Admin and then go to Channels and then open up the lineup, it will be named the Tuner Source you used. The channels will be listed w/ the physcial, major and minor numbers.

Open up snapstream.net's custom lineup wizard and then import the digital antenna lineup from your area and then go through them and see whether the physical numbers are the same, if they are different, modify them and then save your lineup.

Re-run the setup wizard, and edit your source and select your custom lineup and it should work fine.

if you haven't looked at this thread, it pretty much tells your how to do what I just explained: How to Fix Incorrect OTA Lineup Changes from Snapstream

The Setting up a Digital Converter Box kb article may be helpful also since it has some screenshots. http://snapstream.helpserve.com/inde...articleid=1556

I'm missing something here. I can't get the custom lineup to show up when I run setup. On snapstream,.net I have the option set to local and the custom lineup is present.

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

Maybe that is were I went wrong... will re-autoscan w/o guide. Save that lineup (where I was getting all 95%-100% signal), then go into snapstream.net lite and set up a custom lineup.

Was trying to create a lineup/modify the zap2it lineup at snapstream.net lite.

*Almost done*

Knew something was being skipped or done out of order! Will post results in a few!

Thank you soooooooo much, myktek! It worked... I was able to select the new guide finally!

Talking Transition updates arrived

I put in a ticket for 'guide issues' yesterday and amazingly my channel lineups got corrected today. Only 4 days to respond to something that has been scheduled for 6 months...

amazing!

at least I got an additional channel out of the switch.

Anyone else out there have trouble picking up digital VHF signals with HVR-1800 tuner?

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

San Diego KUSI (old channel 51.1) seems to have changed to 18.1. However it was always physical channel 18.1. When I run Beyond TV setup, it finds the (old) channel 51.1 and also displays it in the small test window, but when I try to watch it from the program guide in Beyond TV I get "Channel not found". When i rescanned my TV (Samsung 46" LCD) it automatically found 18.1 and also found 51.1, a Mexican channel. I wrote this info to zap2it.com, but haven't heard from them.

Problem is fixed (06-17-2009, 10:00) - thank you

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

My regular channel lineup got auto-corrected today as well. Seriously late! I had already gone through creating new a custom lineup with the correct channel mappings Saturday when it was clear the BTV/Zap2It wasn't going to publish a correct lineup any time soon.

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

Using BT without a tuner. I currently have Dish Network HD and plan to switch to Comcast Cable. My STB has a HDMI output, and I would guess that cable offers the same. Since my source does the tuning, I just need an INPUT/OUTPUT card for the PC right? Can anyone offer some advice? (to a total newbie). Thanks.

If your intent is to record from Dish Network, you can record in HD using the Hauppauge HD-PVR (not HDMI but component). If you aren't particular about recording in HD, you can always get a TV Tuner card that has Svideo in.

When you move to Comcast or whatever cable company, they probably offer channels via QAM. You can get the Hauppauge 2250 or any of the hybrid models and record all the unencrypted digital (most offer local channels in 720/1080). If you intend to record premium channels like HBO or any of the premium HD channels in HD...you still would need the HD-PVR.

Re: Beyond TV and the Digital Transition - June 12th, 2009

Hi folks, my question is much simpler than the discussion being had above about digital channel guide updates and what have you.

I'm not sure what TV tuner card I have, though it's an ATI. My local Comcast just switched to digital only, and now the only way I can get "premium" channels like Comedy Central and Cartoon Network (68 and 62 respectively) is to tune BTV to channel 3, hook up the STB they sent me (called a digital transport adapter) and change the channel on the STB with the remote it comes with. Of course, this sucks. What can I do to get back to the way things were before, when I needed only my PC and keyboard to view all the channels I'm paying for?
