Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

supposedly the problem is only with qip boxes (fios) and not with comcast versions of the same box...........not sure why that would make a difference......

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

Considering the number of versions they've gone through, probably not a bad idea to trade up. Grant it my system is very stable now, not sure how much of that was the unit itself vs the new driver. You would get the pseudo cool blue led border with the newer unit.

here is the link again if your lazy to scroll up
Does that mean you've been successful trying to showsqueeze HD PVR recordings? If so, are you using the default DivXHD bitrate settings or some other bitrate, etc.?

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

Is anyone else having troubles with 4.9 recording? I never had a single issue with 4.8.2 but It fails to record almost everything now. Missed a good 6 hours of recordings in the past 2 days

Back to 4.8.2

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

I need to plead stupid here. I have had the 1212 for a few weeks and have not had muc time to play around with it. I also have BeyondTV. Can someone tell me what the 1212 remote does? Does it control BeyondTV? Or another app? My setup is odd, I have STB box in basement with 1212 and a long run usb to pc upstairs. Does this matter? I`m so confused....Do I need to run another cable from the pc so I can control it on the tv and then use the 1212 remote?

-We broke HD-PVR support with 4.9, please install Sage if you want HD TV

I'm disappointed with 4.9. I tried using it for a week and had my HD-Pvr's lockup once or twice a day every day. I've gone back to 4.8.2 and not a single lockup since. Prior to 4.9 it had been months since I had missed a recording due to the Hd-pvr locking up.

Recording seem ok for me but play back is not so good in 4.9.
When I try to skip forward, playback freezes with black screen.
I have to do a short skip backward to get it going again.
Didn't have this problem with 4.8.2

Are you using the ArcSoft Decoder?

I had that problem as well in 4.8.2. But I can live with that.

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

btw, is only 4.9 have DD 5.1 support?? I love the DD5.1 support in 4.9, but yes, 4.8.2 was much more stable imho for the HD PVR. or is there anyway I could enable DD5.1 support in 4.8.2 too?

also, is SmartChapter work if I do it manually instead of automatically??

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

to get 5.1 you need 4.9. In my opinion, 4.9 is far more stable for HD PVR, but not as good for OTA HD. I recommend you use the arcsoft decoder that comes with the bundled TME. You can enable smartchanpters for HD PVR in the settings.xml files. I've also found that I can showsqueeze HD PVR recordings now.

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

not positive that is correct, zeta (i could be wrong)

5.1 functionality comes with hdpvr drive, i think.
btv4.9 gives option to select 5.1/stereo but i think(?) 4.8 can record
5.1 if that is only connection to hdpvr and the new driver is used

at least, that is my recollection................

Re: Hauppauge HD-PVR support

What video mode are people using? Using 3d accelerated, I get complete computer lockups and resets, but using overlay things are fairly stable. This is using the arcsoft decoder.
