Directv H10 Setup

I obtained a Directv H10 receiver for free and want to replace my RCA DRD431RG with it. Right now the RCA works fine through the serial cable to my PC. The H10 has a low speed data port. I'm hoping to use the same serial cable. I am aware that I will only be able to record SD, not HD. I still use BTV 3.7.4 build 2507 (which works fine for me).

What I need to know is whether or not the serial cable will work and if I need any special files for the H10.

If it has the same low speed data port, you should be able to use the same serial to low speed tuner, check this page under cables for instructions on what the wiring should look like - http://www.dtvcontrol.com/

You'll probably need to use a different tuner when you setup btv, I usually do trial and error. The directv ultility can be used to test your hardware, howwever don't leave it running or btv won't be able to access the tuners.
