Converting - MPEG2 Transport Stream (HDTV)?

Using the HDHomerun dual HD tuner integrated into my BeyondTV setup. It records HD programming in MPEG2 Transport Stream format. Question is; how can I convert this to a useable format for creating DVD's or editing with standard editors? I've found that the .tp files are not supported by most if not all programs I run.
???

Re: Converting - MPEG2 Transport Stream (HDTV)?

I re-encode my HDTV MPEG2-transport stream files to Divx HD first through web admin (http://localhost:8129/) prior to burning a DVD (note: depending on your system specs, re-encoding may take many hours).

Afterward the Divx re-encoding, the Beyond TV DVD burning plugin will burn the DVD without any problems.

Once in Web admin, go to >Recorded Shows> select the MPEG2-transport stream show to recompress and choose Options link >then press the Showsqueeze button (see image below).

In addition, other 3rd party software will burn the new Divx file to DVD (i.e. Ulead Movie Factory, etc.)

Below is an example screenshot of my MPEG2 Transport Stream ShowSqueeze settings for re-encoding HDTV to Divx using Beyond TV WebAdmin:

Re: Converting - MPEG2 Transport Stream (HDTV)?

Try the trial of VideoRedo Suite. It will do it all, commercial removal, File type conversion, as well as burning the new DVD.

Re: Converting - MPEG2 Transport Stream (HDTV)?

I use the free program called HDTVtoMPEG2 to convert .tp files. It can also remove commercials. From there I use Ulead DVD MovieFactory to author a DVD from it.
