New features that I would like to see in BTV

This doesn't seem right, but this is where SS pre-sales told me to post feature requests.

Here goes:

1. Auto StreamSnip, by recording job - I would like a post processing option in ShowSqueeze that will allow me to StreamSnip and move to a different drive (and delete the original) - this would be a per recording job option.

2. Global Padding in two parts - I would like the global padding to be two separate configurations - one for "global pad the end of shows" and one for "global pad the beginning of shows"

3. Original air date - I would like to see more program details in the guide in the ViewScape guide. Right now, I need to record a "repeat" episode to find out what the original air date was. (or, I can look on Couchville).

4. Soft padding and hard padding - I understand this is a feature in MythTV. Each job would have a padding that is hard and always done or soft which can be forgotten if the system needs the tuner for another program.

5. Tag each recording with the Tuner used - knowing with tuner was used will help diagnose any problems. I know this is in the log, but sometimes I would like to see it go with the recording as well.

6. Another option in Setup Recordings->Search area - Once I find a show in the search, I would like the option to "record once".

7. Ability to backup the configuration in parts - I would like to be able to backup the library information, BTV configuration, recording schedule, etc. into parts (or at least be able to restore it in parts). Unfortunately, this helps when there are problems with my system. It's better to roll back portions to see what is having issues.

Feel free to add...

Re: New features that I would like to see in BTV

Here are a few of my wants:

1. Quicker response time navigating guide
2. Option to stop and delete recording instead of having to stop then delete separately
3. Add option to restart computer from withing program instead of having to grab the keyboard
4. Get rid of 3 second delay in audio and video when resizing window on desktop
5. Ability to search for shows by channel
6. Integrate photo viewer
7. Integrate music player
8. Integrate DVD player
9. Ability to add or remove stations on the fly instead of having to access BTV server
10. Auto set aspect ratio to automatically make 4:3 shows appear as letterbox
11. On screen notification of audio type (Dolby, 2 - channel, etc)
12. Add a "Jump feature" so we can always get back to previous channel
13. New snazzier interface
14. Total re-haul of configuration tool (something more like medioportal

I could go on forever, but here are my most important wants.

Isn't #12 already available... being able to jump between two channels with the "L" key.
