HDHR+VLC=Great, HDHR+Link=Stutter?

I've been using the HDHR for a few months, and have had great luck with it. However, I do have a new problem since 4.7.1. It seems that watching any HD content (live or recorded) leads to a very stuttery picture. It worked pretty well with 4.6, though. Also, my network is based off 802.11n. Just incase I was running into some network problems I tried accessing the HDHR directly with VLC. Works like a champ!

One other thing I noticed is that Link was having problems with SD after the upgrade to 4.7.1. I went into the Network settings in Windows and disabled QoS, and it seemed to solve that problem.

Anyone have any suggestions?

There are three settings in Link that helped me get rid of my stutter. You need to edit C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV\Settings.xml Look for three settings:

UseFirewallFilter - Values: 0,1, Default: 1
When enabled, BTV will use the SS Firewall filter in MPEG-2 and TP Live playback graphs.

UseLinkLegacyMode - Values: 0,1 Default: 0
When enabled, BTV will use the old Link streaming class. When disabled, BTV uses the new Link streaming class

UseLinkPrecache - Values: 0,1 Default: 1
When enabled, BTV will attempt to precache data from the server. When disabled, all reads will be straight from the network

The settings that work for me:

UseFirewallFilter to 0, UseLinkLegacyMode to 1, UseLinkPrecache to 0

Re: HDHR+VLC=Great, HDHR+Link=Stutter?

Ooh good info, I will have to try some of them.

Edit: w0w0w0w

I was just about upgrade my link PC CPU and motherboard because HD content would stutter and I noticed the CPU at 100%. I figured I just didn't have the horsepower in the old celeron. I disabled the firewall setting and Voila! - Everything is fine =)
