Live or playback video is zoomed in after installing new Video card

Hi

Just replaced the video card in my computer - now all menus and screens look great but when displaying live TV or playing back any recordings the display is zoomed in and you can only see part of the display. The new card is a Nvidia Ti 4400 and I am using the S-video output. I have a feeling it is a setting for the S-video output on this card but can't find any.

I can't find any settings that will change this. Using the "O" or "G" option does not make any change to what is being displayed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dan

just an idea... try right-clicking on the desktop, selecting properties... select the "settings" tab and then select "advanced..." button. once that screen is up, select the Nvidia tab... it'll have the name of your card probably...that should bring up a side menu... in that side menu select video overay settings... finally, on that screen you can change the zoom on video that uses the overlay... play with that and see if it helps.

long and convoluted, but I hope it helps.

Maybe you can change the settings of your graphic card.

iPod Software makes ipod more fantastic.
iPod Video Converter can rip dvd movies to ipod.

It's overscanning. If all you use the TV for is BTV, the easiest solution is to just fix it in BTV.

Bring up the viewscape. Go into Settings, Playback settings. Click on adjust the display. Use the arrows (as the instructions will show) to bring the 'box' into view.

Escape out.

It will work fine now.

tscales,

If I'm not mistaken, this procedure does not affect video playback, or at least I've never seen it do so. I think it just changes the viewscape overscanning.

But as I said, I could be wrong.

Pretty sure it fixes both. Wouldn't really make sense otherwise. I have one TV that requires it and it works great for me.

Geoff - you're the MAN! Doing what you suggested fixed the zoom problem!

I still have other problem with this replacement video card. I have the computer connected to my SONY HD TV through 2 inputs - the VGA connection and the S-Video connection. Everything displays correctly in both modes on the TV except when playing a recording or watching live TV with BeyondTV. Using the Nvidia Display program and with the Primary display set for "Analog Device" and Secondary display set for “TV” it shows everything correctly on the VGA input but in S-Video input all the Desktop and BeyondTV screens display correctly but no video (recorded or live) is displayed. If I make the Primary Display "TV" and the Secondary Display "Analog Device" the video problem reverses and the S-Video input displays correctly but the VGA shows the Desktop and BeyondTV screens but no video (recorded or live). I have the NView Display Mode set for "Clone".

Do you or anyone else have any thoughts about how to get both displays (VGA and S-Video) working correctly?

Thanks again for everyone's help with my problems!

Re: Live or playback video is zoomed in after installing new Video card

dan,

I think your problem about black video has something to do with the limitation of video overlay can only be shown on the primary display (or on one display at a time, I can't remember) when in Clone mode. I think you would have to use DualView in order to get what you want, but I'm not sure.

If it is a s-video connection to tv, you need to enable the force tv detection in the Nvidia section of the video properties.
