Fixing DVD Burning plugin step 6 of 9 failure

(Sorry I put the first post in the wrong forum)

I think I just found the solution for this step 6 of 9 failure in the DVD burning plug-in where the process will not go beyond 0% (locks up). I found it in this link

http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/show...light=dvd+burn

I was able to resolve it by turning off the "Advanced Hardware Overlay" function in the DivX "Decoder Configuration Utility".

start | programs |divx | codec configuration utility

The change is not in beyond TV settings but in the divx configuration program. It made it possible for me to get beyond step 6 of 9.

Many thanks to the people in the link above.
Tom

Re: Fixing DVD Burning plugin step 6 of 9 failure

Tom,
Thanks! This is a good DVD burning tip to keep tucked in the 'ol memory. Yesterday, I was trying to burn a DVD from a DivX encoded show and it was consistently locking up the entire BTV UI at "step 3 of 9 Building menus", only way out was a reboot. A quick scan of the forum found your solution,
My burns had been working fine for months, and I'm certain that I disabled this setting in the DivX config before, so I'm speculating that DivX updates probably reenable it. It's the only thing I can think of that would have changed it back.
