Link (4.7.1) and Vista

Hi all. I'm having some new issues in my ongoing quest to make my link machine run smoothly. I had previously had some stutering issues that I'm just going to blame on wireless for now (even though it's only SDTV and I was told that you should be able to stream it easily on wireless) when I had XP Prof as my main OS.

A couple weeks ago I installed Vista 64 (I know, I know, "not supported"...but i doubt my problem is directly related to the 64 part) and installed a fresh copy of Link, which was 4.7.1. I then had to upgrade my main server because Link said it wouldn't work with an older version (I think it had been 4.6).

Link loads fine and plays live TV and recorded TV with a bit LESS stutering than it had in XP. Still not perfect.
Menues load a bit BETTER than with XP. Still not perfect.

My new problem is that when Link is running Live TV (which disables Aero and puts Vista in Basic mode), and I do anything like install a new program or open an app that requires me to hit "allow", or open task manager....The Link program starts freaking out.

The basic behaviour when this happens while I'm watching LiveTV is that Link will go back to the first second or 2 of the buffer (when I first switched to that channel) and play that over and over again until I close Link and restart it. Since my link machine is my main desktop, I'm often doing something else while I am watching TV in a window in the corner of the screen....so it's likely that I'll occasionally do something that requires an "allow", and it'd be nice to open task manager to monitor the network/cpu/memory usage of link itself.

I'm assuming the problem has something to do with the Aero UI being temporary switched back on when the allow or task manager window is shown.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Should I be blaming Link, Vista, or my graphics driver? Sorry if that was hard to understand. It's a strange one.
