Sharing to xbmc with Recording Pool enabled

Hi...

I'm using the latest build with the "recording pool" enabled. I have a small hard drive I boot from and then I have 4 250GB hard drives in my recording pool. In order to allow xbmc (xbox media center) to see all of the original recorded files, do I need to set up 4 separate windows file shares? Is there some method of communication available so that xbmc can see all of the files?

The podcast option might be an option (I bought the dvd/podcast plug-in) except that it only works with h264. I want to be able to open the files as soon as they're finished and watch them across the network. h264 takes forever to encode. Disk space isn't an issue for me, so the original mpeg2 is great.r

Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks...tony

Re: Sharing to xbmc with Recording Pool enabled

Have not tried it myself, but UPnP should work. You will need to run a UPnP server on the BTV box (I use Nero, there are lots), then add all 4 drives to a UPnP share. XBMC includes a UPnP client, so it should be able to see the share: http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/...e=UPnP_Sharing
BTW, this will work for PS3 as well, as the PS3 includes a UPnP client.
