Sequential recording

Several days ago I recorded 2 shows on the same channel right after one another (i.e. one show from 8 to 9 and the second show from 9 to 10). When I tried to Showsqeeze the 9 to 10 show it failed to showsqueeze. The log just shows that it failed but somewhere along the line I think I saw a message that a tag was missing. I had ready deleted the 8 to 9 show because we viewed it when it was broadcast when I discovered the problem compressing the 9 to 10 show.

I'm using mostly default setting for everything in BTV; so the padding is 2 minutes and this may be the problem. I'm going to want to do this same thing every week during the current TV season; so what are my options? I could just record the 2 shows as a single 2 hour show but I'd prefer to have them recorded as individual shows.

BTW, I was able to use the Divx converter to compress the show and I have used the Showsqueeze option to compress many shows.

TIA,

Wayne

Re: Sequential recording

back to back recordings shouldn't be your problem because if you your padding is changed to 0 when your doing back to back recordings on the same channel and same tuner.

Thanx myktek.

I just saw a discussion on padding in another thread and realized that padding was not the problem.

Where might I look for the problem?

Re: Sequential recording

It could have just been a one time thing. It might be best to let it go for one more week and see it it works this time. A back to back recording should have no effect on showsqueeze.

If you have VideoRedo it has an option to fix errors in a video file, maybe you could try that.
